Some memories never settle. They sit unfinished, and a sound, a date or a smell can pull you straight back into them. EMDR gives the brain a way to finish that work, slowly and at your pace, with you awake and in control from beginning to end.
EMDR is one part of how I work, not all of it. Depending on what you need, I also draw on cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, informed throughout by attachment based practice including Circle of Security Parenting.
